It is 1931 and a boy and a girl are playing on a swing set in Omaha, Nebraska.
A stray dog appears and charges on the kids.
The kids try to fight the dog off.
The dog bites the girl but the boy remains unscathed.
The girl contracts rabies and not long after, dies.
The boy lives.
His name is Charlie Munger.
That story is from Jason Zweig from the Wall Street Journal.
When Jason met Charlie he asked him a simple question
What do you think of people who tribute their success solely to their own brilliance and hard work?
Charlie replied I think that’s nonsense.
