I always had a different notion about this statement. It is blunt and something a customer would not be willing to hear. Much to my surprise, I learned that I had a skewed perception.

The statement was made at a sales meeting. In his autobiography My Life and Work (1922), he observed, “I cannot say that anyone agreed with me.”

Context matters!

By the way, the correct answer is none of the above.

Ford had perfected the moving assembly line so much that one Model T could be built in about 93 minutes. The demand for these cars was so large, that they had to be moved out of the factory as soon as possible. And it was observed that black paint dried the fastest.
